Position Overview

Job Title: AI Digital Safety, Regulatory and Compliance Analyst

Details: 6-month contract with high chance to become permanent. Mon‑Thurs onsite / Fri remote, 40 hrs a week. $45/hr pay. Benefits:

Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated, analytical, and detail‑oriented AI & Digital Safety, Regulatory & Compliance Analyst to join our Safety, Regulatory, & Compliance team within our organization.

This role offers a unique opportunity to play a key role at the intersection of children’s safety, artificial intelligence regulation, and digital product development. In this role, you will assist with navigating the evolving AI regulatory landscape, protecting children in digital play experiences, and helping ensure AI‑enabled toys meet applicable legal, safety, and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • AI Regulatory Research:
    Research, monitor, and summarize emerging global, federal, and state‑level laws, regulations, and guidance related to AI and digital features in children’s products (e.g., COPPA, children’s privacy laws, and emerging AI governance frameworks).
  • Child Safety & Trust:
    Collaborate with our Quality Trust & Impact and Legal teams on evaluations of AI‑enabled and digital product features, assisting in identifying potential child safety risks such as inappropriate content, emotional manipulation, or unsafe behavior generation.
  • Privacy & Data Protection:
    Assist with the review of data collection policies for connected children’s products to support compliance with COPPA and applicable global privacy requirements.
  • Legal & Policy Documentation:
    Develop internal policies, principles, compliance checklists, guidance documents, and risk assessments related to AI and digital technologies used in children’s products.
  • Cross‑functional

    Collaboration:

    Partner with Legal, Quality, Product Development, and innovation teams to help integrate AI safety, digital trust, and regulatory considerations into the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, plus a graduate degree in Law, Public Policy, Technology Policy, Data Privacy, or a related field, with a focus on AI, digital safety, or regulatory compliance.
  • Strong experience and/or interest in AI, emerging technologies, digital ethics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with children’s data privacy regulations (e.g., COPPA, GDPR) and/or product safety regulation (e.g., CPSC) is a strong plus.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex legal or regulatory concepts to non‑legal, technical, or product‑focused audiences.
  • Demonstrated passion for protecting children and helping create safe, trusted play experiences.
