THE OPPORTUNITY:

Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense’s (DoD) current and future operational needs.

As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC is responsible for the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical systems spanning the entire acquisition life cycle. These efforts ensure the United States Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners maintain a strategic advantage in space operations. This position will support multiple SSC/SZ-BC programs, as well as other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with portfolio management by providing information, advice, and recommendations to align portfolio acquisitions, manpower, and funding effectively. Advise and assist program managers in identifying and minimizing potential interface and integration issues. Coordinate and resolve issues to facilitate team communications, including resolving program issues and integrating requirements with other acquisition and sustainment activities. This may involve addressing both internal system interface issues and external interface challenges with multiple government or mission partner organizations.
  • Maintain, update, and analyze the acquisition forecast to ensure it is current and consistent, identifying any discrepancies or shortcomings. The acquisition forecast predicts upcoming contract efforts, milestones, and key decision points.
  • Incorporate inputs from force design, operational imperatives, combatant command integrated priority lists, and future force shaping products to provide recommendations that enhance government planning and capabilities.
  • Advise and assist leadership in managing high visibility engagements, commitments, and tasks, including at the congressional level. Draft, review, coordinate, and process program acquisition information for public release to industry, media, trade publications, and other stakeholders. Ensure that information is not released without government approval.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Requires three to 10 years’ experience in this type of position or program.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead, manage, and execute various internal projects, including answering workflow taskers and summarizing large amounts of acquisition data.
  • Must be knowledgeable and certified in Air Force records management and Defense Travel System.
  • Demonstrates ability to process, receive, track, coordinate, and store large volumes of program-critical information.
  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate and organize multiple geographically separated team members as required to support the mission.
  • Knowledge of DTS is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.

This position may supervise the work of others.
