Global Trade Controls Specialist

Position Responsibilities

• Process Supplier requests, Denied Party Screenings (DPS), Visitor Approvals and Technical Data Reviews
• Conduct Jurisdiction, Product Classification and HTS/Schedule B for products, software, and related Technology
• Consult with internal and external business partners to ensure the smooth and compliant handling of all aspects of the company's international efforts
• Communicate procedural changes via email, through training and other communication vehicles
• Develop and conduct audits of internal controls and procedures by examining artifacts to ensure compliant transactions
• Support external audits and inquiries from U.S. governmental control agencies such as Department of State (DoS) and Department of Commerce (DoC) through data gathering and corrective action execution
• Serve as a subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of the job area
• Communicate within and outside the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches
• Make significant improvements in processes or systems
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the Company within area of expertise
• Educate others on GTC practices and changes to concepts, practices, and approaches
• Work to make significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area
• Perform other duties as assigned by the GTC manager

• Minimum 5 years related work experience (e.g., export and import controls, supplier reviews, etc.)
• Knowledge of ITAR and EAR
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and phone etiquette
• Ability to work within a team and foster teamwork and trust from both external and internal customers
• Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship

• Bachelor's degree or certification
• Background in import/export regulations, compliance, classifications, licensing and exemptions, commodity jurisdiction requests and Technology Control Plans
• Technical background for jurisdiction and classifications in hardware, software, and Technology
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a time-sensitive environment
• Ability to work across multiple functional departments/organizations

El Segundo, CA – onsite

Requires ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship required.

Level 3: $96,050 – $141,250
