Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manager 2 of Data Analytics. The Manager 2 will report to a Manager 3 within the Process Compliance organization within Mission Assurance, leading cutting‑edge initiatives and building standard performance measures and insights to guide teams in delivering high‑quality products. The role is based in El Segundo, CA; a hybrid work arrangement may also be considered.

• Support requirements capture, design and technical implementation related to Data Analytics
• Manage capacity, priorities, and performance for a high‑performing team of Database Engineers, Data Insight Analysts, and Data Scientists
• Align Mission Assurance tools with functional, sector, and enterprise standards and best practices
• Actively engage with customers and stakeholders to ensure services are delivered to meet or exceed expectations in a highly complex and dynamic environment
• Act as liaison with decision makers by providing data‑informed strategic direction, and as liaison with subject matter experts to obtain data sets and set expectations
• Serve as the technical leader for all data tools for Mission Assurance
• Build trust and work with Mission Assurance customers to understand organizational decision needs and relevant business questions
• Identify, communicate, and quantify opportunities for leveraging analytics solutions and applying data analytics
• Coordinate projects on classified programs
• Upgrade and maintain data infrastructure
• Manage budget and people management
• Project and portfolio management
• Demonstrate experience using analytics to inform business decisions
• Demonstrate leadership skills in an analytics capacity as a project lead or people manager
• Extract and manipulate data from databases (e.g., SQL)
• Use statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python)
• Proficient in data visualization using Tableau or similar tools
• Collaborate on projects with multiple teams, manage relationships, and communicate findings to audiences
• Work with MES and SAP data
• Establish best practices for data analytics execution

• High School/GED (minimum education)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 9 years of Analysis, Mission Assurance, Systems Engineer or relevant experience
• 7 years with a Master’s degree (STEM)
• Passion for being at the leading edge of technology with hands‑on software development or analytics experience
• Experience with data analytics and data science tools and techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for varied audiences on analytical subject matter
• Experience in process improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques
• Experience in identifying and driving operational/organizational change and excellence
• Proven ability to manage, prioritize, and provide transparency to projects being worked
• Proven people‑management experience leading an organization
• Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product/technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective teams
• Demonstrated ability to transform business requirements to specific analytical tools
• Understanding of mission assurance practices and processes
• Active Department of Defense Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SAP
• Preferred:
  Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics)
• Preferred:
  Experience with PEO
• Preferred:
  Experience with Airflow or Dagster
• Preferred:
  Experience with Azure Dev Ops, TFS or JIRA
• Preferred:
  Experience with UX design principles
• Preferred:
  Solid statistical understanding and exposure to advanced analytics, such as machine learning
• Preferred:
  Active DOD Secret or Top Secret clearance
