Mission Recruiting is partnering with a tech-forward California employment defense practice in El Segundo to add a Senior Employment Defense Attorney who enjoys advising employers, building smart strategies, and driving matters to resolution with crisp writing and confident advocacy.
This role blends proactive counseling with active litigation. You will be a trusted resource to employer clients navigating fast-moving workplace issues, while also owning defense matters from intake through settlement or trial preparation. The practice supports efficient, high-quality work with collaborative teams and modern tools so you can stay focused on what matters: great legal outcomes and great client service.
What you will do (high level):
- Counsel employers on investigations, discipline and termination risk, discrimination and harassment response, wage and hour compliance, and leave and accommodation issues
- Defend matters through all phases, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and settlement strategy
- Handle wage and hour disputes with PAGA and class action exposure
- Partner closely with clients, providing timely, practical guidance and clear risk assessments
