Location: El Segundo, CA
Pay Range and Benefits: $80K to $110K per year, along with Paid Time Off, Paid Sick Time and Holidays, Healthcare, Dental and Vision Coverage, 401(k)
Position Type: Full‑Time, Direct Hire, Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) after 30‑day Probation Period
LHH is partnering with a fast‑paced, regional litigation law firm in seeking a highly experienced and detail‑oriented Litigation Paralegal/Legal Secretary to join their Los Angeles office located in El Segundo. This role is ideal for a seasoned legal professional with a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience who thrives in a collaborative, deadline‑driven environment.
Responsibilities- Manage and organize complex litigation cases, including commercial litigation matters.
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation and support.
- Prepare, organize, and file legal documents with state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Handle discovery processes from start to finish, including drafting, reviewing, and responding to discovery requests.
- Maintain familiarity with local court rules and deadlines and ensure compliance in all filings.
- Calendar and manage case‑related deadlines, hearings, and appointments using legal calendaring software.
- Schedule appointments, depositions, court appearances, and other case‑related activities.
- File, organize, and maintain client files both digitally and in hard copy.
- Communicate and interact with clients on a daily basis to gather information, provide updates, and ensure exceptional client service.
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, and court personnel as needed.
- Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Prepare case materials including exhibits, indexes, and trial binders.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal or legal secretary in a law firm setting.
- Experience with filing in both state and federal courts and deep understanding of relevant procedures.
- Strong knowledge of court rules, calendaring, and deadline management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle a high‑volume caseload.
- Exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited program is a plus.
