About the PositionThe Sheriff's Office is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Legal Support Assistant III (LSA III). This list may also be used for vacancies in other County of San Diego departments.
The Legal Support Assistant III is the lead level class of the series. Under general supervision, incumbents handle the most complex legal clerical work preparing, reviewing, and processing a wide variety of legal documents, records, and correspondence according to prescribed laws and regulations. The LSA III may act as a lead worker by providing technical guidance and training to subordinate legal clerical staff.
This position may also act in the absence of the supervisor. In addition to the base salary, incumbents may be eligible to work an optional 4/10 schedule, subject to operational needs and approval.
The Civil Unit Option is assigned only to the Sheriff's Office and in addition, the LSA III in the Sheriff's Office Civil Unit receive, verify, post and record payments submitted for wage garnishments and levies, process received payments, count cash, checks and other payment transmittals. Education and ExperienceOR
Qualified applicants will be placed on a six(6) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment and supplemental applications.
