Strategic Sourcing Lead

Target salary range: $121,550 - $
We are hiring a Senior Strategic Sourcing Lead in El Segundo, CA, to lead strategic sourcing, supplier development, and supplier performance initiatives supporting aerospace and defense programs. This on-site role requires experience with FAR/DFARS, CPSR-compliant procurement, supplier agreements, multi-commodity sourcing, cost reduction, supply chain risk mitigation, and strategic supplier management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic sourcing and supplier development initiatives to achieve cost, quality, delivery, compliance, and production targets.
- Develop sourcing strategies that support production ramp-up, increased production rates, program requirements, and enterprise goals.
- Manage multiple commodity categories, including mechanical components, electronics, and raw materials, while identifying and developing new sources of supply.
- Build cross-functional relationships with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Operations, Global Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to identify and engage critical suppliers.
- Develop and implement supplier agreements, including Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs), Teaming Agreements (TAs), and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).
- Establish supplier relationship frameworks that support long-term performance, availability, cost, and supply continuity objectives.
- Support make/buy decisions, sourcing requirements, and supply chain risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee key and critical supplier relationships to ensure compliance with program requirements and company policies.
- Ensure supplier agreements and procurement activities comply with FAR, DFARS, and Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) requirements.
- Develop supplier plans and timelines addressing risk, performance, availability, cost, and value proposition targets.
- Lead supplier strategy, identification, categorization, development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive supplier innovation, cost reductions, shorter lead times, and achievement of negotiated cost targets.
- Manage supplier escalations and develop recovery plans for schedule, delivery, quality, and performance issues.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and business reviews and lead supplier performance improvement initiatives.
- Support internal, AS9100, and CPSR audit readiness activities.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, with a final clearance required post-start.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of sourcing experience, including 3+ years in a supplier development role.
- Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), supplier agreements, and CPSR-compliant procurement practices.
- Experience developing and executing strategic sourcing and supplier management strategies.
- Experience managing multiple commodities and supplier bases in an aerospace or defense environment.
- Experience supporting supplier performance, cost, quality, delivery, sourcing, and supply chain risk mitigation activities.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in El Segundo, CA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience negotiating supplier pricing, terms, agreements, and delivery requirements.
- Demonstrated success implementing strategic sourcing and supplier development programs.
- APICS/ASCM or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience presenting sourcing strategies and technical information to senior leadership and stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
- Advanced negotiation and analytical skills with experience influencing supplier and organizational decisions.
