Logistics Coordination, Supply Chain & Logistics, Import Export, Freight
Description
Department: Corp HO
Location: 65000 - Distribution Corp HO
THEPURPOSE:
The Import Logistics Coordinator owns end-to-end visibility of inbound international shipments destined for North America, with a primary focus on DDP shipments from overseas factories to U.S. distribution centers. Under the DDP model, factories manage their own freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers - making this role the central point of accountability across that entire network. The coordinator ensures factories and their logistics partners meet agreed-upon timelines, maintain accurate documentation, and deliver product reliably, so that internal teams have the visibility they need to protect business commitments across wholesale, retail, and e-commerce channels.
THE ROLE (what You Are Accountable For)- Own end-to-end shipment visibility for all DDP inbound shipments from factory cargo-ready date through final delivery to U.S. distribution centers, tracking milestones including cargo ready, pickup, departure, arrival, customs clearance, and DC receipt
- Coordinate directly with overseas factories to obtain accurate shipment information, ETAs, documentation, and status updates throughout each shipment lifecycle
- Work with factories and their appointed freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure shipments progress according to plan - escalating proactively when timelines are at risk
- Track shipments against critical business deadlines including product launches, retail delivery windows, wholesale commitments, and e-commerce go-lives, and communicate risks to internal stakeholders before they become delivery failures
- Maintain accurate and current DDP shipment milestones in the Looker ITR, providing cross-functional teams with reliable visibility into inbound inventory status
- Review shipment documentation from factories and logistics partners for completeness and accuracy, monitoring customs clearance status and following up on any holds or delays
- Create and maintain factory, freight forwarder, and customs broker scorecards covering on-time performance, communication, transit times, documentation accuracy, and issue resolution
- Develop and maintain reporting on inbound shipments, transit times, delivery performance, and vendor performance, using data to identify trends and drive accountability
- Identify recurring logistics issues by factory or logistics provider and work with appropriate parties to implement corrective actions
- Maintain and improve freight-related SOPs and DDP shipping guidelines for factories and vendors, supporting broader process improvement initiatives across the inbound logistics function
A highly organized logistics professional who thrives in a high-volume, multi-vendor environment. You track shipment milestones, documentation accuracy, and vendor accountability without losing the thread across dozens of concurrent shipments - and you communicate proactively when something is follow through without needing to be managed, build effective relationships with overseas partners despite not having direct authority over them, and bring both data discipline and clear-headed problem-solving to a function where delays have real business consequences.
