Description
The Director of Air Export will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for our Hawthorne based Air Export department and drive the nationwide expansion of our air export capabilities. This role combines hands on operational expertise with strategic vision to deliver consistent, high-quality performance across all U.S. locations. The director will be responsible for standardizing processes, improving efficiency, and developing the infrastructure necessary to scale our services while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of nine air export professionals at our Hawthorne office, setting performance standards, and promoting operational excellence
- Design and implement a national growth strategy encompassing LAX, SFO, SEA, ORD, JFK, MIA, ATL, IAH, DFW, and SLC locations
- Standardize workflows, procedures, and technology tools to create consistent and scalable operational models
- Partner with Sales and Senior Leadership to align operations with business development goals and identify opportunities for revenue growth
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with air carriers, agents, and key logistics partners to strengthen service offerings and competitive positioning
- Monitor KPIs and operational data to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards
- Minimum 10 years of air export experience within the international freight forwarding industry, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
- Strong working knowledge of TSA security requirements, IATA regulations, and US Export compliance
- Proven ability to scale operations, optimize processes, and lead multi-location teams effectively
- Strategic thinker with a hands‑on leadership style and the ability to balance tactical execution with long‑term planning
- Proficiency with freight forwarding systems:
Cargo Wise experience preferred - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred
