Position Overview
Electrofrorm/Plater & Paint AV – ElSegundo,CA – Space and Launch Division, Satellite Systems Team. The Boeing Company seeks an experienced Electrofrorm/Plater & Paint AV to join our commercial and government satellite programs.
Responsibilities- Work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, planning, process specifications, oral and written instructions.
- Lay out and prepare masks prior to applying standard and unique primers, exotic pigments, and paints to satellite and aerospace parts and materials.
- Apply conductive and silicone‑based white and black paints, high‑temperature ceramics, gold, in organics, chemglaze, polyurethane and epoxy primers by spray, brush or other means.
- Observe strict thickness and surface coverage area requirements.
- Prime and paint all metal, plastic and graphite parts, including processing aluminum parts through an acid etch for priming.
- Recognize various types of metals and plated surfaces.
- Operate ovens, heat lamps, vacuum blasters, drill motors, spray guns and related equipment.
- Use scales and mixing equipment for weighing, measuring and mixing pigments and resins.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as protractors, thickness gauges, calipers and micrometers.
- Work on scaffolding and operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or cranes.
- Assist process engineers in developing advanced painting techniques for new space applications and in reviewing and revising process documents.
- Record data and prepare reports, charts and graphs.
- Perform incidental related duties as assigned or required.
- Perform rework of the same nature and difficulty as described.
- Perform 100% onsite work at the specified location.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience as a vehicle painter.
- Experience in aerospace paint.
- Experience operating ovens, heat lamps, vacuum blasters, drill motors, spray guns and related equipment.
- Experience reading drawings and masking.
- Manual spraying experience and familiarity with paint robots.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. A U.S. Citizenship is required. An interim U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Pre‑Start and a final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post‑Start are required.
LocationElSegundo,CA – 100% onsite. Relocation assistance is not provided; candidates must reside in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
