Position Overview
Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician – El Segundo, California. Responsible for assembly, inspection, and support of space‑flight subsystems and support equipment.
Responsibilities- Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis.
- Assemble assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and written operating procedures.
- Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.
- Perform visual inspection of assemblies against drawings, engineering specifications, and test procedures.
- Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
- Document non‑conformances and associated rework/repair activities.
- Solder – rework through‑hole and SMT components.
- Support conformal coating, masking, epoxy application, and coating processes.
Primarily first shift; may be required to work any shift assigned. 100% onsite.
Union RepresentationHourly, union‑represented position governed by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721). New hires may be required to attend or complete training within the 90‑day probationary period; continued employment is contingent on successful completion.
Security ClearanceApplicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a U.S. security clearance. An interim and/or final Top Secret clearance is required after hire.
TravelTravel up to 5% of the time may be required.
Health & SafetyDrug‑free workplace. Testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol is performed when criteria are met.
Pay & BenefitsCompetitive base pay with variable compensation opportunities. Total rewards include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time off. Pay ranges from $29.42 to $47.09 per hour.

Basic Qualifications- High School diploma or GED.
- More than 3 years of experience in electronics, electro‑mechanical, and PCB assembly.
- More than 3 years of experience in electro‑mechanical assembly on high‑reliability products.
- Experience with ESD, IPC J‑STD‑001 and IPC‑A‑610 standards.
- Experience with soldering.
- Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing plans, and reviewing instructions for aerospace manufacturing processes.
- Capable of lifting 20 lbs or more on a frequent basis.
- Ability to stand, reach, bend, or stoop to handle products for extended periods with only short breaks.
- More than 5 years of experience building component‑level space products (e.g., avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, PCB assemblies, solar arrays).
- More than 3 years of experience using hand tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet‑metal brakes, and sheers.
- More than 3 years of experience working in a clean‑room environment.
- More than 3 years working in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Current IPC J‑STD‑001 and/or IPC‑A‑610 certification.
- More than 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office and general computing systems.
