Production Planner II, El Segundo, CA, Pay: $42.00 - $48.00 per hour, 26-05539, Job Summary
The Production Planner 2 is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting manufacturing operations related to fabrication, assembly, installation, and production processes. This role develops and maintains production plans, prepares work orders, reviews engineering documentation, and coordinates activities to ensure products are manufactured according to specifications and schedule requirements. The ideal candidate possesses experience working with aerospace drawings and specifications, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with production, engineering, and scheduling teams in a manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate fabrication, assembly, installation, and manufacturing operations for assigned products and programs.
- Review blueprints, engineering drawings, engineering orders, change notices, and other technical documentation to develop production plans.
- Determine tooling requirements and provide recommendations regarding tooling design and planning needs.
- Prepare and release shop work orders for material procurement and production processing activities.
- Coordinate with production schedulers to ensure materials and products are processed according to specifications and schedule requirements.
- Monitor production progress and identify potential schedule impacts or production constraints.
- Maintain production schedules, progress reports, work order status, and related planning documentation.
- Support manufacturing teams by ensuring accurate interpretation of engineering requirements and production instructions.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to support efficient production execution.
- Assist in resolving production planning issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure planning activities comply with established manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding production status, priorities, and schedule requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of production planning, manufacturing, scheduling, or related experience required.
- Experience working with aerospace drawings, specifications, and technical documentation required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering documentation and manufacturing requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across production, engineering, and planning functions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional technical, manufacturing, engineering, or business-related education is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, scheduling, or related fields required.
- Experience working with aerospace specifications and drawings required.
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience supporting engineering and manufacturing organizations preferred.
- Experience coordinating production schedules, work orders, and manufacturing processes preferred.
