Singularity is seeking a skilled Propulsion Technician to support the safe development, manufacturing, and handling of solid rocket motor systems. In this hands‑on role, you will perform mixing, casting, curing, machining, and assembly operations for high‑performance solid rocket motors used in defensive tactical systems. You will work closely with engineers and quality teams in a high‑paced, controlled environment while strictly adhering to safety, environmental, and quality standards (including OSHA, ATF, and DoD requirements).
This position involves direct work with hazardous energetic materials, so a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and process discipline is critical.
- Prepares materials and performs propellant mixing and solid rocket motor component assembly for various production and development programs.
- Conducts energetics research and development for new energetic formulations.
- Technician is responsible for requisitioning and organizing the materials and processing required for mix and cleaning and maintaining mix equipment.
- Technician will perform energetics duties under the general direction of engineers and the team supervisor using established, well-defined methods.
- Technician may be responsible for milling chemical components for full-scale propellant mixes and weigh material bins to correct weight for propellant mixing. This includes disassembly, cleaning, and re-assembly of full-scale milling equipment.
- Other duties as assigned – Such as but not limited to:
Test flight support, final assembly of prototype energetic articles and solid missile systems, materials test and analysis sample preparation, and support of new production initiatives and schedules. - Maintains a clean and organized space.
- Able to follow and develop a preventative maintenance schedule with the assistance of engineering or chief technician.
- Willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet production schedules.
- Able to work from elevated platforms, ascend ladders, and transport 35 lbs. repetitively.
- Medically cleared to wear a respirator and operate powered industrial vehicle (and obtain company issued license as appropriate).
- A safety-oriented mindset with a high focus on quality and production processes
- Attention to detail and situational awareness
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals beyond standard solvents and cleaners
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a chemical, or aerospace development or manufacturing environment
- Able to lift 50lbs without assistance
- Able to operate and troubleshoot development control software with engineering assistance
- Basic computer skills and ability to communicate using multiple electronic platforms
- Demonstrates compliance with standard operating procedures and job specific directions
- Self-starter with a desire to improve and work across a team environment
- Ability to get and maintain a state explosives permit (employer sponsored)
- Willing and available to work other shifts and overtime to meet production schedules
- Run automated equipment in a highly controlled environment
- Set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes (Fanuc, Siemens, or Haas controls) to produce precision aerospace parts from materials such as aluminum, titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and composites.
- Develop or modify CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or Power Mill) and G-code; prove out programs and optimize toolpaths for efficiency and surface finish.
