The Secure Subsystems Engineering team seeks a Senior Principal Systems Engineer – Lead Systems Engineer to drive innovation and mature new technology into fielded solutions. This role provides technical leadership within Scrum Teams, influences backlog, and collaborates with Product Management to deliver secure, mission‑critical products.

• Lead and mentor a Systems Engineering Scrum Team through design, development, integration, and test efforts.
• Communicate with multiple levels of management, team members, software, firmware, and hardware leads, and customers.
• Interface with multiple Hardware and Software Scrum Teams to manage dependencies and technical challenges.
• Work with systems product owners and leads to drive priorities, maintaining budget and schedule at a strategic level.
• Meet with the project team regularly to identify and remove blockers, providing technical guidance and mentorship to individual contributors.
• Conduct critical path analysis and collaborate closely with program leadership to manage tasks and workflow.
• Monitor and assess project issues, escalating when necessary, and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer‑satisfaction goals.
• Provide support for proposals and bids using estimation tools.

Core qualifications
:

• Experience leading and being a systems architect for programs over $30‑50million, with full lifecycle certification through the NSA for cryptography.
• Experience operating as a Product Owner in an Agile environment.
• Experience with Model‑Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools.
• Experience capturing customer requirements, developing design concepts, and deriving and tracing system and subsystem requirements.
• Experience with peer review processes, configuration and change management.
• Familiarity with bidding and project/task estimation tools.
• Active and transferable SECRET clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
• Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
