Yard Laborer

Cal Portland is seeking a Yard Laborer to support operations at our construction materials facility. In this field-based role, you will handle raw materials and finished products, assist with loading and unloading, and help keep the yard safe, clean, and organized. Responsibilities include operating basic mobile equipment under supervision, staging materials for production and shipping, and performing routine housekeeping and inspections.

You will follow strict safety and environmental standards while working closely with plant teams on daily tasks and special projects, helping deliver quality cement, concrete, and asphalt products safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload raw materials, aggregates, and finished products in the yard
• Operate basic mobile equipment such as forklifts or loaders under supervision
• Organize and stage materials for production and shipping
• Perform routine yard housekeeping and debris removal to maintain a safe worksite
• Inspect materials for damage or contamination and report issues
• Assist maintenance teams with basic equipment cleaning and support tasks
• Follow all safety, environmental, and company procedures and wear required PPECollaborate with plant and truck drivers to ensure efficient material flow
• Complete basic logs or checklists for yard activities and equipment use
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned
