As a PMA (Parts Manufacturer Approval) Production Technician you will be responsible for the meticulous execution of assembly, testing, tear-down, and inspection of aviation hardware. You will use your expertise to support the development of SkyOS with adherence to FAA regulations, internal quality management systems (AS9100), and other standards.
This is a full-time onsite opportunity based out of El Segundo, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Demonstrate strong proficiency in soldering, including both through-hole and surface-mount techniques, while adhering to industry-standard workmanship requirements (J-STD-001 & IPC-A-610).
- Ensure compliance with industry certifications, including J-STD-001 & IPC-A-610, or other relevant certifications, and maintain familiarity with their standards and guidelines.
- Carry out PCBA rework, component replacement, and troubleshooting on circuit boards, identifying and correcting solder defects, damaged traces, and other issues in accordance with established rework procedures.
- Perform assembly, tear-downs, inspections, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical components as well as other LRUs.
- Read and understand manufacturing blueprints, wire diagrams, planning documents, test specifications, and other applicable documents.
- Utilize hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, multimeters, and more to assist with testing and assembly of PMA parts.
- Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures.
- Assist with other functions of the manufacturing of aircraft parts as needed.
- 4+ years of experience in an aviation production environment
- Certification in J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or equivalent industry standards, with demonstrated familiarity in applying these standards.
- Experience with assembly instructions, blueprint reading, and other specifications
- Basic computer skills required: (Windows, MacOS, Excel, Gmail)
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
- Experience working at a startup
- 6+ years of experience in an aviation production environment
- Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) process

The posted salary range reflects the potential base pay for this role, adjusted to account for varying geographic markets. Final compensation will be based on factors such as your location, job-related skills, experience, and internal alignment, including equity and benefits.
