Aerospace Quality Inspector | Trio — Where Precision Is the Standard
Do your standards hold up under a microscope?
At Trio
, we build aerospace components and assemblies that have to be right, every time. We're looking for a seasoned Aerospace Quality Inspector who takes personal ownership of the product's integrity, understands that a missed callout has real consequences, and brings the kind of eye for detail that can't be taught.
If you've spent years in the aerospace or precision manufacturing trenches, reading drawings, calling out NCRs, supporting FAIs, and signing off on work that eventually flies, this role is for you.
What You’ll OwnYou won't just be checking boxes. You'll be embedded in our manufacturing flow, serving as a critical gatekeeper through receiving, in-process, and final inspection:
- In-process & assembly inspection — verifying build sequences, hardware installation (fasteners, inserts, helicoils), torque, bonding, and adhesive application against travelers and work instructions
- Dimensional verification — interpreting GD&T and engineering drawings using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, surface finish gauges, CMM/Faro Arm)
- First Article Inspection (FAI) — supporting AS9102 measurement and data collection
- Non-conformance management — identifying, segregating, and documenting non-conforming material via NCRs
- Traceability & certifications — verifying material certs, special process compliance, and quality records
- Customer & audit support — supporting source inspections and internal/external audits
- Calibration stewardship — maintaining calibrated equipment and tracking due dates
Required:
- 3+ years of quality inspection experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing
- Strong command of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation
- Hands-on proficiency with precision measurement tools
- Experience with inspection documentation and quality records
- Self-directed, detail-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced production environment
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred (you’ll stand out):
- Experience with CMM software (PC-DMIS, MCOSMOS, Verisurf, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems
- First Article Inspection experience per AS9102
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification
- Exposure to prime contractor requirements:
Raytheon, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, or similar - Background in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments
We're a precision manufacturing company that takes quality seriously — not just as a compliance function, but as a competitive advantage. You'll join a team that respects the craft, invests in the right tools, and holds the work to the highest standard.
- Work on meaningful aerospace and defense programs
- Collaborative team culture with experienced manufacturing professionals
- Stable, growing company with a strong commitment to quality
- Opportunity to develop expertise across CMM, FAI, and advanced inspection disciplines
