We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Chemical Regulatory & Compliance Engineer to support a global product safety and regulatory compliance program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of chemical safety, consumer product compliance, and regulatory affairs, helping ensure products meet evolving safety, environmental, and legal requirements worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background and a passion for product stewardship, chemical risk management, and consumer safety.

Working closely with regulatory, product safety, and cross-functional teams, you will help navigate complex global chemical regulations and contribute to the development of safe, compliant, and trusted consumer products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, monitor, and analyze emerging global, federal, state, and regional chemical regulations, standards, and legislation affecting consumer products.
  • Track and summarize requirements related to restricted substances and chemical compliance programs, including regulations such as:
    • TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act)
    • REACH
    • California Proposition 65
    • Other applicable international, national, and regional regulations
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and integrate them into internal compliance processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain and update the company's Restricted Substances List (RSL) to reflect evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Review chemical composition data, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS) and Bills of Substances, to assess compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and provide recommendations regarding materials, substances, and regulatory risks.
  • Support federal and state chemical reporting obligations and ensure regulatory compliance across applicable product categories.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance chemical management systems, databases, and compliance workflows.
  • Drive process improvements that increase the efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of chemical compliance and product safety programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in:
    Chemistry Materials Science Chemical Engineering Or a related scientific discipline
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in chemical compliance, regulatory affairs, product stewardship, product safety, or a related field.
  • Strong interest and/or hands‑on experience with global chemical regulatory compliance and restricted substances management.
  • Knowledge of chemical regulations affecting consumer products and associated materials.
  • Familiarity with common materials used in consumer product manufacturing, including:
    Polymers Coatings Adhesives Inks Textiles Packaging materials
  • Excellent research, analytical, problem‑solving, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
  • Passion for consumer safety and helping create safe, compliant, and trusted products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with:
    Regulatory databases Chemical declarations Supplier compliance programs Product stewardship initiatives Chemical management systems
  • Exposure to the toy, children's products, consumer goods, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Understanding of global supply chain compliance and chemical reporting requirements.
  • Must be U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance.
