Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Stocking, Retail Support, Merchandising
- Compensation: USD 18 - USD 21.15 per hour
The Opportunity:
The Toy Store Associate Lead supports store leadership by ensuring smooth daily operations, exceptional guest experiences, and a positive team culture. Acting as a bridge between associates and management, this role provides direction, coaching, and operational support while modeling excellence in hospitality and efficiency.
Must be able to work a minimum 3 days per week including Saturday. Full time hours are available.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Operational Excellence
- Partner with store management on schedules, staffing, and workload distribution.
- Serve as a trusted keyholder; assist with opening, closing, and cash handling procedures.
- Maintain store security, compliance, and merchandising standards.
- Review sales reports and ensure store readiness daily.
- Adapt to shifting priorities and business needs.
- Support inventory management processes, including receiving shipments, stock replenishment, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Leadership & Team Support
- Train, mentor, and onboard new associates to foster teamwork and growth.
- Provide feedback, coaching, and communicate updates through daily huddles.
- Coordinate breaks and schedules to maintain operational flow.
Guest Experience & Sales
- Execute visual merchandising standards and promotional displays in accordance with brand guidelines.
- Conduct routine sales floor walks to identify merchandising opportunities, replenish product, and ensure store appearance standards are consistently maintained.
- Deliver exceptional guest service with expertise in cashiering and engagement.
- Resolve guest concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Promote a fun, welcoming environment aligned with Mattel’s mission of inspiring play.
What We’re Looking For:
- 1–2 years of retail, hospitality, or customer service experience; leadership or keyholder experience preferred.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and team motivation skills.
- Dependable, adaptable, and committed to operational excellence.
- Experience with inventory management, stockroom operations, or visual merchandising preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and safely move merchandise throughout the store and stockroom.
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
* The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
