Scientific Education Consultant – Scientific Affairs
Liquid I.V. is looking for a highly motivated, innovative, out-of-the-box thinker to join our R&D Scientific Affairs team as the Scientific Education Consultant, reporting to the Principal Scientist, Scientific Education and Communication. The role will be responsible for supporting nutrition communication and acting as an internal expert on hydration, nutrition science, and our products. The contract is for 6 months, up to 20 hours a week.
Functionsand duties
- Develop and disseminate education materials on product science, hydration, nutrition and related topics.
- Develop fun, engaging, science‑backed content that can be utilized across a wide range of channels, including social media, consumer‑facing marketing, and conference presentations.
- Effectively communicate product and nutrition science to non‑scientific audiences on digital, print media, social media, and websites by leveraging an understanding of our products, the science of hydration, and strategic communication and storytelling skills.
- Generate and provide informative scientific content about our products to Marketing and Sales teams to help advance consumers’ understanding of the science behind our products.
- Effectively communicate and lead in a cross‑functional team environment, serving as a recognized technical expert in product knowledge.
- Stay up to date with scientific publications and updates in hydration science, sports nutrition, and related fields.
- Preferred educational requirements:
Master’s in Nutrition or Exercise Science. - Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years in Scientific Communication and Education.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of nutrition science, health and wellness, scientific communication, nutrition trends, and hydration and nutrition research.
- Social Media Education Experience.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, draw valid conclusions, and propose solutions.
- Highly innovative and creative.
- Excellent written and oral technical communication skills.
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills, ability to multi‑task.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced setting under tight deadlines.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office.
- Expert level proficiency and experience with PowerPoint.
- This role is HYBRID office environment (El Segundo). Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
The compensation band for this position is $68 per hour. The exact hourly pay is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal company equity, and budget. The listed range is applicable only to the annual base salary and does not include additional perks, benefits, or applicable bonus eligibility comprising the total compensation package.
