Company Overview
Hybron is an advanced manufacturing company that is building lightweight composites at mass production scale. At Hybron, we have pioneered a new composites manufacturing process that enables complex, high performance composite parts to be produced 10-100 times faster than traditional manufacturing, at a fraction of the cost.
We recently closed an oversubscribed $25M seed round, are backed by the Northrop Grumman Technology Accelerator, and are rapidly growing to commercialize and mass produce composite products at a scale never seen before. Our current focus is applying our proprietary process to composite artillery shells, solid rocket motor nozzles, gas turbine engine components, and airframes.
If you want to join a rapidly growing company working on cutting edge composites technology while building capabilities for the warfighter and reshoring U.S. manufacturing, then we want to speak with you.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, in-person role at our El Segundo pilot facility, with a potential DC area starting option for the first 6-12 months. As you will be working at an early-stage deep tech startup, this role will span many different tasks. You will need to be a self-starter and be adaptable to performing many different jobs. Along with these high expectations comes the opportunity to significantly influence the product development, strategy, and trajectory of a fast-growing startup company.
Your work will tangibly impact our company and the composites industry, and you will be able to make rapid professional gains in an environment that encourages growth and innovation.
This role involves building the foundation of Hybron’s capture program. This includes turning executive-level priorities into concrete action plans and strategic pathways, identifying and parsing through valuable strategic opportunities, managing business development efforts, owning Hybron’s end-to-end business development funnel structure, shaping requirements, managing DC consultants and contractors, and creating proposals for both business-to-government (B2G) and business-to-business (B2B) contracts. You will be responsible for ensuring that the business development and capture teams are coordinated to finding and winning the best opportunities for Hybron’s technology and strategic goals.
Working in a high-growth company, you will be wearing many hats: direct customer communication, requirements shaping, requirements identification, statement of work creation, cost estimation (working with operations and engineering), lobbyist and contractor management, and communication of customer needs to PMs and engineers.
Growth Opportunity and TargetsAs you grow with Hybron, your responsibilities are expected to shift and evolve. Our hope is that you will be able to grow into the following responsibilities:
- Own Hybron’s most critical interactions with business and government customers.
- Lead and grow the business development and growth teams.
- Significantly contribute to Hybron’s strategic business development plans and priorities.
- Create and implement repeatable processes for shaping requirements, creating proposals, and winning contracts (CRM management, dividing of work, etc.).
- Direct interactions with Congress.
- Must be a US Person pursuant to the EAR and the ITAR definitions
- Ability to work in-person at our facility in El Segundo, with an option to start in the DC area or NYC/Picatinny Arsenal area for the first 6-12 months.
- Technical background sufficient enough to create accurate, aggressive manufacturing- and engineering-based scopes of work that are realistic.
- 5+ years of experience working on business development or capture for advanced manufacturing technologies (composites manufacturing, additive manufacturing, automated manufacturing, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience working at a small business (under 500 people) or startup.
- Experience with securing B2G contracts, with a track record of winning at least $10M in B2G contracts.
