Evening Security Officer: Patrol, Access Control & Safety

Sunday to Thursday, 6:30 PM–3:00 AM (Friday and Saturday off). This on‑site position requires weekend and holiday work with schedules that may vary based on business needs.

As a Security Officer you will safeguard Mattel’s employees, guests, products, and brands. Located at Mattel’s global headquarters in El Segundo, CA, the role involves flexible, collaborative, and detail‑oriented work.

• Support Mattel’s Global Security Strategy by providing customer service and applying policies.
• Enforce global security policies to create a safe environment for employees and visitors.
• Carry out security duties and related tasks as outlined in contingency operations and SOP manuals.
• Conduct patrols on foot, vehicle, and digitally; monitor campuses for security, safety, and facilities concerns.
• Monitor the fire control panel, report maintenance issues to Facilities.
• Perform administrative data entry for incident documentation and communications via Microsoft suite.
• Maintain access control standards, including badge policies and visitor registration.
• Ensure parking lot safety, enforce parking rules, conduct traffic control and accident investigations.
• Support IP processes for confidentiality and controlled destruction of IP.
• Take additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Adapt to multiple shifts and times as needed.

• 1+ year of experience in security, asset protection, loss prevention, law enforcement, or military (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid Security Guard License (where required).
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Blood‑borne Pathogens, or willingness to obtain via Mattel training.
• Excellent communication skills at all organization levels.
• Analytical ability to think critically and make well‑reasoned decisions.
• Ability to respond confidentially and stay calm in emergencies.
• Working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office, CCTV and access control (a plus).
• Flexible to work varying shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting business policies and regulations.
• Strong writing skills for incident reports and business correspondence.
• Exceptional customer service orientation.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb., and work outdoors under varied weather.
• Skill in using security equipment such as metal detectors, radios, and CCTV.
