Shift: 1st Shift – 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM – El Segundo, California. This position is onsite.

• Performs complex servicing of installed HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) and infrastructure including chillers, boilers, pumps, air compressors, fan coil units, air handling units, DX units, condensers, test chambers, refrigerated lab equipment, VAV boxes, valves, coils, cooling towers, piping and wiring, control systems, thermostats, building automation systems, pneumatic systems, flow calibration, ventilators, ventilation hoods, flow benches, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, plumbing within units, electrical disconnects, and other appurtenances, plus housekeeping in equipment and work areas.
• Operates and performs routine and emergency repairs to the same.
• Interprets engineering drawings, specifications, working drawings, control schematics, and equipment manuals related to air conditioning systems and components.
• Has working knowledge of International Building Codes and NEC as they relate to HVAC systems.
• Provides recommendations regarding air conditioning systems, maintenance, and repairs, maintains historical operating data as directed, and compiles material take‑off lists for ordering parts.
• Uses general computer skills to maintain records, time entries, order parts, process work orders, and perform other clerical functions.
• Applies knowledge of building automation systems such as Delta Controls.
• Completes all assigned air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance mechanical tasks or projects and may perform incidental duties as required.

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience or completion of a technical school/formal training program.
• Valid EPA 608 universal technician certification.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, shop drawings, and manufacturer’s technical manuals.
• Industry experience in building automation and process controls.
• Basic understanding of VAV box operation and Belimo valve usage in a DDC control environment.
• Strong time‑management and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to assist other trades during building emergencies.
• Skilled in system replacement, installation, and unit tear‑down or start‑up.

• The hourly range for this role is $28.05 to $47.16. This range is a good faith estimate representing all experience levels. RTX considers factor such as role, function, responsibilities, candidate work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
