Our client, a leading investment firm, is seeking an Investment Engineer to join their team in El Segundo, CA!

• Responsible for full lifecycle of development tasks - analyze, design and code business-related solutions, as well as core architectural changes, using an Agile programming approach resulting in software delivered to tight deadlines.
• Participate and contribute to design discussions and code reviews.
• Understand changing priorities and be forward-thinking in context switching.
• Build positive relationships with other team members, collaborate, and communicate effectively to reach successful outcomes.
• Utilize problem-solving skills to help your peers in the research and selection of tools, products, and frameworks (which is vital to support business initiatives).

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or another STEM field.
• 3-7+ years of proven hands-on, full-stack development expertise with both a scripting (e.g., Python) and OOP (e.g., C++, Java) programming language.
• Comfortable working in an agile software delivery environment, with Git and with exposure to CI / CD tools (e.g., Git Hub, Docker, Jenkins).
• Proven expertise in system design with the ability to evaluate and communicate architectural trade-offs clearly and effectively.
• Proficiency in developing, deploying, and troubleshooting applications in both Linux and Windows environments. This includes familiarity with command-line interfaces, scripting, and system administration tasks on both platforms.
• Strong software experience in developing and a proven track record of delivering full-stack cloud-based applications. Demonstrated ability to build and deploy microservices in a scalable high throughput workflow.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with distributed and asynchronous system architectures, including scalable and event-driven designs.
• Passion for clean, maintainable code and are always looking to improve your engineering skills in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive and collaborative mindset; able to build relationships across teams while independently driving projects forward.

• Hands-on experience with messaging and event streaming systems such as Kafka, enabling reliable communication across distributed applications.
• Experience in the finance or investment industry, with understanding of capital markets and trading workflows.
• Forward-thinking in leveraging AI and emerging technologies (e.g., AI-assisted development and “vibe coding”) to enhance productivity and innovation.
