Position

Summary

Staff Software Architect – located in El Segundo or Redondo Beach, CA
. The position will be primarily based on‑site and requires a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. Remote or hybrid work is not available.

Essential Functions

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated software architect to collect mission requirements, describe software product features, develop technical designs, create feature roadmaps, and shape the product strategy. The role involves shaping long‑term technical strategy to evolve and deliver software architecture that enables various DoD missions, leading mission decomposition into functions, requirements, and interface definitions for implementation by software developers, and ensuring the autonomy architecture aligns with Government Reference Architectures (GRAs).

Basic

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with at least 12 years of experience, or STEM master’s degree with 10 years of experience, or STEM PhD with 8 years of experience.
  • Experience with Agile best practices and processes, including tasking, accountability, and process enforcement.
  • Experience designing and architecting on‑board mission system software ensuring portability, modularity, adaptability, and scalability.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/network development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and V&V.
  • Experience designing micro‑service–based, containerized software using open standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (DoD must be in‑scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any required program access within a reasonable period of time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Government Reference Architectures such as OMS/UCI.
  • Experience designing or architecting operational user experiences.
  • Knowledge or experience with software infrastructure such as Kubernetes, Podman, K3s, Helm, etc.
