Senior Embedded Software Engineer, Onsite

Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer.

• Support all aspects of the software development life cycle as part of a multi-disciplined team, including new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements through design, development, integration, test, and potential maintenance.
• Provide creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems.
• Collaborate closely with Systems Engineers to design solutions that meet end‑user and operational needs.
• Occasional business‑related travel may be required.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing C++ systems on Linux, VxWorks, or other real‑time operating systems.
• Experience developing, testing, and integrating real‑time C++ software applications.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python.
• Active, transferable U.S. Government‑issued Top Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

• Experience coding in C, C#, Java, or related languages.
• Experience working in lab environments with physical hardware (test benches, simulators).
• Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
• Experience with Scrum or other Agile development processes.

Role type:
Onsite (primarily onsite work). The position requires a security clearance; the DCSA handles the clearance adjudication. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
