Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Software Engineer – Software Assurance to join our Research and Advanced Development Team onsite in El Segundo, CA.

• Support the review of all software scans and provide recommendations on removing software flaws.
• Interact with the software assurance technical discipline organization to ensure the program follows policy and process.
• Ensure program requirements are met with respect to software assurance, including development of software assurance deliverables.

• Principal Engineer:
  Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 5 years of engineering experience, or Master’s in STEM with 3 years of experience.
• Senior Principal Engineer:
  Bachelor of Science in STEM with 8 years of engineering experience, Master’s in STEM with 6 years, or PhD in STEM with 4 years.
• Experience with at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Python, Swift) and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with a configuration management system (Git, Git Lab, Git Hub, Bitbucket, Subversion).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance and Special Access Program (SAP).
• Willingness to learn and grow in the software assurance discipline.

• Basic knowledge of containers and cloud technology (AWS, VMWare, Azure, Kubernetes).
• Basic knowledge of agile processes (Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban).
• Basic knowledge of security metrics.
• Basic knowledge of software application security testing, dynamic analysis, software composition analysis, fuzzing, and binary analysis.
• Basic knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) – NIST SP 800-53r5.
• Knowledge of Common Weakness Enumeration (CWEs).
• Knowledge of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs).

Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives for senior positions.
