Software Engineer II [Embedded / Radar] – Role Overview Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development team for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group.
Responsibilities- Work on technical problems and provide innovative solutions, with minimal guidance.
- Contribute at all phases of the software development lifecycle, including software/hardware integration.
- Develop real‑time embedded software, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities.
- Utilize investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.
- Work with teams across multiple disciplines, internal and external.
- Participate in program and customer meetings/reviews.
- Support the team leads as needed regarding technical decision making and problem resolution.
- Help to ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, and quality goals.
- Support system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.
- Must be able to obtain “special access programs” (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Development experience coding in C, C++, ADA or related languages/tools.
- Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Current DoD Secret and Top Secret Clearance.
- Introductory experience with design, code, integration, and test of software into a large software baseline and large system.
- Proven ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance.
- Experience developing radar software applications.
- Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper‑collaborative team environment using typical agile‑oriented tool suite.
- Direct experience with Agile methodologies.
- Analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
- Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.
- Salary range: $75,800 – $144,200 USD.
