Position: Senior Software Engineer - Gen 4 Airborne Radar

Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development teams for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group.

Responsibilities
  • Work on complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions.
  • Effectively contribute at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
  • Develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities.
  • Utilize strong investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.
  • Work effectively with team across multiple disciplines, internal and external.
  • Effectively contribute to program and customer meetings/reviews.
  • Support the program leads as needed regarding technical decision making, problem resolution.
  • Perform technical leadership roles for at least one key task or line item on programs.
  • Mentor at least one other engineer on programs in areas of knowledge and expertise.
  • Help to ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, quality.
  • Support of system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.
  • Must be able to obtain "special access programs" (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.
  • Work Location:

    Onsite at our El Segundo, CA Campus.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 5 years of prior relevant software development experience.
  • Development experience coding in C, C++, ADA or related languages/tools across phases of SDLC.
  • Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS.
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.
  • Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience developing Radar Software applications.
  • Direct experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
  • Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.

Salary range: 95,500 USD – 181,700 USD.

Benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit and union agreements.

This is a U.S.

-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
