Software Engineer II - Space and RF Sensors; Onsite

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer II with embedded development experience to join our Space and RF Sensors team in El Segundo, CA.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
• Analyze and translate system requirements into detailed software specifications and designs.
• Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
• Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance software quality and development practices.
• Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.
• Work onsite in El Segundo, CA.

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of relevant software experience.
• Experience in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python or similar.
• Experience with software testing and debugging tools.
• Experience using version control tools like Git.
• Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance as and when required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• Understanding of Object‑Oriented Design (OOD) principles and practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.
• Experience with Linux and/or real‑time embedded systems such as vx Works or Integrity.
• Knowledge of Dev Sec Ops  practices, including CI/CD pipelines such as Git Lab and secure software development methodologies.
• Experience with unit test frameworks such as gTest/gMock.
• Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance.
• Familiarity with gRPC and Protobufs.
• Familiarity with Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
• Active U.S. government security clearance (if required for the role).

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD – 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
