Overview

Software Engineer I (embedded) with experience in aerospace and defense, located in El Segundo, CA. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining software for aerospace and defense applications, collaborating with systems and hardware engineering teams to ensure robust functionality and reliable performance. Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

• Design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
• Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
• Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and development processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
• Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.

You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
• Understanding of software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Dev Ops/Dev Sec Ops  practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies.
• Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance.
• Familiarity with real-time embedded systems or aerospace/defense applications.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
• Exposure to cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
• Experience with software testing and debugging tools.
• Active U.S. government security clearance (if required for the role).

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret level).
• Security clearance status: active and existing clearance required after day 1.
