The Cross-Mission Effectiveness Department (CMED) in the Integrated Performance Subdivision leads integration and application of modeling and simulation capabilities to support end‑to‑end effects kill chain analysis and space‑enabled campaign modeling. In this role you will provide technical capabilities to support customers in modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of space, air, and ground‑based systems of systems to investigate architecture and concept of operations performance in nominal and contested operating environments.

What You’ll Be Doing- Develop new, customer‑driven capabilities into our mod & sim software tools.
- Leverage a modern tech stack and enforce best practices in modern software development and maintainability.
- Assist in converting programmatic requirements into actionable work.
- Work closely with our cross‑mission focused program offices and customers to translate their program needs into modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks.
- Develop and present briefings and reports for program offices and customers.
- Travel occasionally as required.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited program in computer science, electrical engineering, optical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience in modern software development using a systems software language.
- Proficiency in C/C++, preferably C++20.
- Comfortable working with and following a large code base in C/C++.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience in modeling and simulation software development.
- Experience in at least one of the following: optics, beam control, filtering, multi‑int tracking, tasking, mission management, data transport, C2 processes, SIGINT system modeling, kill chain analysis, or orbit determination.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team and manage multiple simultaneous tasks.
- Familiarity with software development cycles and working with repos (git, bitbucket, etc.).
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, self‑motivation, and willingness to take initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bias for action and the ability to identify shortcomings and address them with initiative.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Master’s degree or PhD in applicable STEM areas or other relevant disciplines.
- Proficiency with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) and/or similar tools.
- Experience with software integration of multiple code bases and tools.
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community, U.S. Department of Defense, and Department of the Air Force business practices and programs.
- Current Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph and special program access.
Annual pay range: $86,600.00 – $, based on education, experience, and skills.
