Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Security Clearance: U.S. Government issued Secret clearance (active and transferable) required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.

• Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering builds.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and the ability to thrive in small, empowered teams, with an intense desire to enable our customers’ success.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments.
• Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, including system architecture and design specifications.
• Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.
• Work collaboratively with multiple engineering disciplines to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline.
• Maintain required security clearance (TS/SAP) as needed.

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience with system and software blended skills including optimization and analysis, system of systems resource management, modeling and simulation for kill chain analysis, tracking software integration, output analysis, and algorithm development.
• Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.

• Bench support, familiarity with platform engineering tools.
• Clear communication of plans, status, and issues to teammates and program leadership.
• Successful integration of software components into delivered products.
• Experience in object-oriented and scripting languages.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
• Experience contributing to a team environment for developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems.
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

USD 118,300 – 224,900 per year (range, based on experience).
