The Storeroom Lead serves as a senior-level member of the Supply Chain team, providing advanced operational support for receiving, inventory control, and storeroom functions while performing all essential duties of the Receiving Clerk position. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and documentation of food, beverage, and operational supplies in accordance with dnata Catering’s quality, food safety, and inventory control standards.
The Storeroom Lead acts as a technical resource for receiving and inventory processes, supports inventory accuracy through routine audits and cycle counts, assists with employee onboarding and procedural training, and collaborates closely with the Storeroom Supervisor to promote efficient daily operations. This position does not have supervisory or disciplinary responsibilities.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders for accuracy, quality, quantity, expiration dates, and temperature requirements.
- Identify and document damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments and communicate discrepancies promptly to the Storeroom Supervisor.
- Accurately complete receiving documentation and inventory transactions within inventory management systems.
- Ensure all incoming products meet dnata quality and food safety standards before acceptance.
- Perform advanced inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reconciliation, and stock verification.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, overages, damaged goods, or obsolete inventory.
- Ensure proper stock rotation utilizing FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) inventory practices.
- Verify products are stored correctly within refrigerated, frozen, and dry storage areas.
- Accurately fulfill requisitions for production departments and airline customers in a timely manner.
- Assist with airline oven packing and special customer requests as operational needs require.
- Break down deliveries, organize inventory, and replenish stock locations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and inspection-ready receiving and storage areas.
- Assist kitchen and production teams by providing requested inventory promptly.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding receiving procedures, inventory processes, product locations, and storeroom operations.
- Support onboarding by demonstrating established receiving and inventory procedures to newly hired employees.
- Assist with maintaining accurate receiving records and inventory documentation.
- Report equipment issues, inventory discrepancies, product quality concerns, and operational challenges to the Storeroom Supervisor.
- Support departmental initiatives focused on improving inventory accuracy, organization, and operational efficiency.
- Comply with all HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA, TSA, OSHA, and dnata food safety and sanitation policies.
