Qualifications &

Experience:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and skilled in interpreting for a variety of age groups
• Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI), or equivalent credentials
• Experience interpreting in an educational setting is highly desirable
• Ability to effectively translate spoken and signed communication in academic, social, and extracurricular contexts
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities to ensure equal access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to gather details about individual student needs and support plans
• Contribute to IEP meetings, reviews, and communicate student progress to relevant stakeholders
• Support students during assemblies, field trips, special events, and other school functions as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions and documentation
