The Accounting Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the AVMA Professional Liability Accounting team, ensuring accurate financial tracking, reporting, and transaction processing. This role applies accounting principles to analyze financial data, oversees staff performance, and serves as the primary point of contact for accounting-related issues across AVMA PL insurance lines.
Your Impact- Supervise, coach, and develop the AVMA PL Accounting team; set goals, manage performance, and ensure high-quality, timely execution of daily workflows.
- Oversee all cash applications, invoicing, Accounts Payable, broker commissions, and carrier payments, ensuring transactions are accurate, compliant, and properly recorded for month-end close.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable and Direct Bill commissions to identify discrepancies, ensure timely collections, and partner with business units and IT to resolve issues.
- Review and analyze financial statements, investigate variances, and prepare journal entries while ensuring accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations across the team.
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for projects, system implementations, and process improvements; collaborate cross-functionally to enhance systems, reporting, and internal controls.
- Support internal and external audits, maintain strong accounting processes, and provide direct oversight of team performance and results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience (financial transactions, reporting, analysis), including leadership experience or equivalent combination.
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
$64,800 - $64,800 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for this role.
