Accountant Position

Our client located in the Elgin area in the construction industry seeks an Accountant to join the team.

This is a stable privately owned company in business since 1989. This a full time, 40 hour per week ONSITE role.

• Data entry for accounts payable
• Expedite approval on invoices and matching
• Vendor reconciliation
• Prepare check run, print checks, mail out
• Credit card reconciliations
• Year end 1099 preparation

• Send out monthly statements
• Bank reconciliations
• Journal entries to record expenses in the General Ledger
• Subcontractor lien waivers and oversight of final payment
• Reconcile intercompany general ledger
• Assist with year end audit
• Receive customer payments and apply on account including ACH payments
• Update/maintain customer database

• Intermediate MS Excel skills including formulas, spreadsheet creation. VLookup and Pivot tables a plus
• Solid mix of A/P, A/R and general accounting experience
• Construction experience a plus
• Quickbooks experience a plus
• 3 plus years experience.
