Senior Corporate Accountant
Our client is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This position works collaboratively across corporate, plant, and cross-functional teams to support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, SEC reporting, month-end close, and technical accounting activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with public accounting or corporate accounting experience who enjoys working in a dynamic environment with exposure to financial reporting, technical accounting, external audits, and cross-functional business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare journal entries and support monthly and quarterly close activities
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and analyze account activity
- Manage lease accounting activities, including reconciliations and quarterly analyses
- Review and record revenue recognition entries in accordance with ASC 606
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, Proxy Statements, financial statement footnotes, and statement of cash flows
- Coordinate quarterly and annual external audit requests, prepare supporting documentation, and participate in audit walkthroughs
- Support compliance with SOX and internal control requirements
- Prepare sales and use tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
- Monitor and manage unclaimed property reporting and regulatory compliance
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, and other departments to analyze business results and spending trends
- Assist with internal management reporting, financial analysis, and special projects
- Help develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Cross-train to provide backup support for critical accounting functions within the department
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- General Ledger Accounting
- Month-End Close
- Account Reconciliations
- Revenue Recognition (ASC 606)
- Lease Accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and data analysis
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Public accounting experience
- SEC reporting experience
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems
- Experience with financial reporting software, lease accounting platforms, and financial consolidation tools
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls
The ideal candidate is a CPA with a combination of public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience who enjoys financial reporting, technical accounting, and partnering across the business. This individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, supporting external audits, improving accounting processes, and contributing to strategic finance initiatives.
