Senior Accountant | Chicago | Hybrid | Non-Profit About the Role

This role is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys hands‑on work and has experience with nonprofit, government-funded, or grant-based organizations doing accounts receivable, grant accounting, financial reporting, and/or process improvement. Here, you will make a difference.

• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage accounts receivable, collections, billing, and cash receipt reconciliations
• Support month-end close and financial reporting
• Support accounting for government grants, reimbursements, and grant match requirements
• Strengthen accounting processes, procedures, documentation, and internal controls
• Develop and maintain accounting schedules, trackers, and supporting documentation
• Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and financial reporting
• Identify process gaps and implement practical improvements across Finance
• Partner with Finance and operational teams to research and resolve accounting issues

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, AR, billing, and month-end close
• Experience with government-funded grants, contracts, or reimbursement programs preferred
• Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
