Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Office Associate for the Elgin Mental Health Center located in Elgin, Illinois. Working in the forensic building provides complex and difficult clerical work for the Security Department. Takes minutes for a variety of committee meetings. Creates, keyboards, verifies, and proofs for accuracy all documents, forms, reports, etc., utilizing specialized medical and psychological terminology.
Creates and updates all security related databases. Creates and produces a variety of computerized reports, forms, flow charts, graphs, and statistical data. Maintains a tickler file to track due dates for the security department for required reports and responses to external organizations, including Office of Inspector General (OIG). Completes timekeeping for the Security Department.
Essential Functions
* Working in the forensic building, provides complex and difficult clerical work for the Security Department.
* Creates and updates all security related databases including a database tracking restraint, seclusion and physical hold usage on all forensic and civil units.
* Maintains a tickler file to track due dates for Security Department for required reports and responses to external organizations, including Office of Inspector General (OIG).
* Answers, screens, and forwards communications for the Security Department.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
* Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm.
Conditions of Employment
* Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers and basic software packages such as Microsoft Office.
* Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
* Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
