Backyard Products is seeking a Hybrid Warehouse & Administrative Associate for its Elgin, IL location. The role blends warehouse operations with office tasks, providing exposure to both areas.

Warehouse Responsibilities
  • Physically lift up to 60 lbs. and use tools such as miter saws and panel saws.
  • Receive, store, and organize incoming inventory.
  • Stage products accurately and on time from a pick‑sheet.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies or damages.
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and other machinery as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and focus heavily on scheduling installs.
  • Communicate with end users to ensure site readiness and delivery deadlines to homeowners.
  • Problem‑solve, plan, and think creatively.
  • Use Sales Force or other CRM systems.
  • Coordinate daily with sub‑contractor installers.
  • Communicate concisely and detail‑oriented in written correspondence.
  • Support management with general admin tasks such as data entry and report generation.
  • Handle customer inquiries with prompt and courteous service.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in Business or Construction preferred.
  • Previous warehouse or administrative experience required; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and move items up to 60 lbs. frequently.
  • Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain certification).
Work Environment
  • Hybrid role alternating between warehouse and office/administrative settings.
  • Physical labor required for warehouse tasks.
  • Fast‑paced and dynamic work environment with changing priorities.
