Hispanic Services Program Assistant

Are you a positive and friendly individual who enjoys helping others? We are seeking a friendly, bilingual, and organized individual to join the Hispanic Services Department at the Main Library. This position works as part of a team and provides support for programs and services offered throughout the library district. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively interact with Spanish-speaking individuals of varying ages and backgrounds.

• Support the day-to-day activities of the Hispanic Services Department, including on-site and off-site program preparation, set-up and clean-up, errands, and other departmental tasks.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties related to program agreements, marketing, and data entry.
• Translate written and verbal information between Spanish and English, as needed.
• Coordinate technology support for in-person and virtual programs.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Must be detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills required.
• Must successfully complete a language skills test at the proficiency level.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and a safe driving record.
