To provide culturally and linguistically competent information to immigrant clients and administrative support and reporting assistance to Centro program managers.

Carpentersville, and Hanover Park. The mission of Centro de Información is empowering the Latino and immigrant community to integrate effectively. Centro provides immigration and naturalization services, an emergency food pantry, educational seminars, public benefits assistance and advocacy, and more. Centro has been serving in the community since 1972 and serves over 7,000 clients each year.

All office locations are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position requires occasional participation in community events, which may take place during weekday

Duties
  • Arrive promptly Monday through Friday 15 minutes before the office opens to prepare office space (8:45 am)
  • Answer phone and route calls, which includes taking messages, calling back clients as necessary to share information, confirming appointments, and additional tasks.
  • Schedule appointments for clients based on availability of agency program staff.
  • Assist clients with completing forms and collecting documentation required for appointments with Centro staff.
  • Enter client and service information into agency database systems.
  • Manage the distribution and collection of client forms.
  • Deliver clear communication with outside vendors and agency partners to sustain Centro operations, materials, inventory, and security.
  • Maintain Centro office space well-organized and welcoming.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proficiently bilingual (Spanish / English – writing, reading, speaking), and bicultural
  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
  • One year of office/administrative experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential records.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Google Suite, and willing to learn other online platforms
  • Driver's License

Job Type: Full-time, in-person

Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
