Primary

Purpose:

The Supply Planning Manager is an integral part of Supply Chain and the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process. This role will partner with the Director of Supply Planning to enable measurable results aligned with the broader Planning organizational strategy. The Supply Planning Manager will understand big picture ideas and work to incorporate company-wide goals and values into our Supply Chain.

This position provides key tactical and strategic management over a wide variety of business results including finished goods inventory projections, capacity utilization, plant run strategies and plays a key role in generating plans to obtain and maintain world class levels of customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of capacity planning & scheduling in an ERP environment and is comfortable balancing a number of responsibilities at once and can pivot between projects with ease.

Responsibilities:

Planning & Business Partnering: 50% of time Create supply plans for assigned business, adhering to capacity availability, lead times, sku mix and minimum order quantities.

Subject Matter Expert for project meetings such as line extensions, new product launch, sku transition, manufacturing sourcing changes.

Work with Planning and other supply chain teams to manage product transitions in order to minimize risk of E&O and aging inventory.

Perform scenario analysis to understand inventory impact of component shortages, demand upside/downside, etc. to Supply Plan of Record Drive the S&OP process, including:

Perform capacity analysis to support what-if scenarios, forecast changes, and plan for production growth

Lead the coordination with manufacturing and Sales department to analyze schedule impact for all expedite requests.

Ensure that the appropriate signals for materials or services are flowed to the Procurement to support schedule requirements.

Identify potential supply risks and inventory exposures by aligning supply chain processes with production plan milestones/targets.

Recommends and presents findings and recommendations to all levels of management.

Drive Continuous Improvement: 25% of time Create inventory and attainment reports/dashboards and present continuous improvement suggestions.

Drive continuous improvement in areas of MRP plans, ERP system performance and supply planning standard work.

Reports process and manufacturing improvements when and if inefficiencies exist, to the Planning Manager or Supply Chain Director.

Recommend improvements to supply chain metrics, processes and performance standards using industry knowledge and best business practices.

Coach & Develop Team: 20% of time Support Supply Planners during regular production meetings as needed to ensure strong communication with business partners.

Build a strong team through coaching, feedback, training, and effective performance management.

Other Duties: 5% of time Attending meetings and presentations.

Participating in company-wide activities and events.

Impromptu conversations with colleagues.

Administrative like email, calendaring, expense reports, and other non-value-added work.

Education, Qualities and

Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of 7 years of manufacturing, supply chain, planning Master’s degree a plus.

Must have excellent Excel skills

Experience with ERP tools preferred.

Strong drive for results and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills

Ability to collaborate cross functionally

APICS certification or training a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role will have direct reports.

Work Environment:

Typical office working environment which includes a workstation equipped with a computer and other office supplies necessary for daily tasks. Typically climate-controlled to provide a comfortable working temperature year-round. Lighting is usually a mix of natural and artificial sources to ensure sufficient lamination.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salaried position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Expectations of 45 hours per week, to be worked during normal business hours.
