Responsibilities

  • Find and grow identified target clients and client segments in life sciences.
  • Build and manage productive client relationships, including with PE and VC investors, positioning Witt Kieffer as a trusted leadership advisor across solutions.
  • Independently drive the identification of client needs and work with Talent Delivery to serve those needs.
  • Combine deep industry knowledge of the Quality‑of‑Life Ecosystem with pragmatic solution expertise to deliver the very best results for clients.
  • Collaborate closely within the interim group and with other Witt Kieffer colleagues, bringing a team‑oriented approach to business development.
  • Live Witt Kieffer values, continuously seek development opportunities, provide timely feedback, and contribute to a strong, capable team culture.
Business Development
  • Target responsibility of $5M Gross Revenue ($1.6+M Gross Profit); initial year $1‑2M.
  • Develop market and account plans to reach the target.
  • Identify and maintain “anchor” clients that generate profitable repeat business.
  • Collaborate with senior consultants to identify potential clients and projects.
  • Customize pitches and shape proposals that focus on client needs, differentiating Witt Kieffer and strengthening the brand.
  • Generate and manage project discovery calls, schedule follow‑ups, and prepare for them.
  • Work closely with Talent Delivery to address client needs, negotiate budgets and engagement terms.
  • Ensure MSAs and NDAs are in place and manage purchasing relationships with Talent Delivery.
  • Actively represent Witt Kieffer at conferences and industry events.
Client Management and Impact
  • Develop deep understanding of all Witt Kieffer services and demonstrate Life Sciences expertise to deliver measurable client impact.
  • Communicate the capabilities of interim and on‑demand leaders and where they add value.
  • Participate in or lead teams across Witt Kieffer, listen to client needs, and develop optimal solutions.
  • Support mechanisms to measure the impact of work on client performance.
  • Manage mid‑size to large accounts and help expand them.
  • Identify opportunities for future engagements by understanding organizational pain points.
  • Drive research, analysis, and interpretation of client/sector business issues.
  • Expand relationships with sector leaders to increase future engagement opportunities.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through proactive check‑ins, problem solving, and active engagement.
MSA and SOW Management
  • Drive the placement of MSAs and collaborate closely with Witt Kieffer resources.
  • Assist Talent Delivery in contracting and manage purchasing relationships.
Brand Positioning and Thought Leadership
  • Position Witt Kieffer in the marketplace by contributing to offerings, thought leadership, and market awareness.
  • Develop relationships with emerging thought leaders and networks of influence.
  • Create and promote solution‑ and market‑relevant thought leadership within Interim Solutions.
  • Post and engage actively on Linked In to support brand promise and standards.
Development and Leadership
  • Demonstrate Witt Kieffer values and behave as a positive member of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
  • Actively seek opportunities to develop peers and junior team members.
  • Help develop and retain a high‑performing, diverse, and inclusive team.
  • Participate as a truly collaborative member of the team while building internal brand.
Contributions to Firm Management
  • Identify opportunities to improve practice, communication, and operations, and raise them appropriately.
  • Take on formal leadership of more junior colleagues when needed.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in consulting and/or interim talent acquisition, with a substantial portion related to life sciences, PE, and VC clients.
  • Proven business development experience and the ability to originate, build, and sustain client relationships.
  • High achievement record and strong executive presence.
  • Unabated commitment to quality and consistency in delivery.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, independent yet collaborative, with a bias to action.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to provide insight and structured thinking to define paths forward.
