Position Overview / Responsibilities
- Effectively handles a high-volume, fast-pace coupling business which includes, but is not limited to:
- Independently processes purchase orders in SAP, including commercial, technical clarification and confirmations to customers
- Manages the order process from end to end
- Communicates with customer all order and product related topics (incl. technical aspects to some extent, order tracking, invoices, proposal generation and others)
- Independently prepares, clarifies and presents basic technical and commercial proposals using SAP, as well as internal tools
- Coordinates with the factories regarding lead times, expediting options, freight and other order management topics
- Supports quote process during peak times and communicates more complex technical solutions with HQ.
- Takes responsibility in triaging the Couplings mailbox
- Coordinates internal processes related to the coupling business (e.g. drop-shipment routing, purchasing, stockroom, shipping, receiving clarifications)
- Initiates and supervises rush orders and expedite requests within the Elgin organization and with intracompany suppliers.
- Effectively handles and supervises serial project business in terms of order management
- Initiates and manages material returns
- Creates purchase requisitions for the coupling team where needed
- Generates stock and usage reports
- Supports the coupling team in a flexible and adequate way
- Implements process improvements for the product group to reduce manual efforts and improve the overall cost situation
Required Knowledge / Education / Skills
- Communication skills for technical and commercial clarifications with customers.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Capable of working with others in a team environment.
- Open and capable of analyzing and improving processes, business methods and / or technical components.
- Capable of independently managing tasks and setting realistic goals to achieve targets.
