Director of Business Development

Overview

IHC Construction Companies, L.L.C. is one of Chicagoland's longest established construction firms. As an ENR Midwest Top Contractor, IHC competes as a Construction Manager, General Contractor and Design Builder. We employ the management professionals and skilled crafts to estimate, plan, contract, supervise and implement a diverse set of construction projects that include vertical building, road/bridge, plant and utility construction.

• Maintain & develop current markets
• Cultivate new client relationships and maintain existing relationships
• Build and maintain relationships with strategic industry partners
• Analyze potential areas for expansion and implement growth strategies into new markets
• Monitor current and approaching project opportunities and craft custom proposals
• Prepare the team and material for interviews and presentations
• Close:
  Negotiate compensation and agreement terms (AIA & other)
• Communicate contract requirements to operations to help ensure project deliverables are met
• Attend public meetings, presentations and interviews as needed to generate market intelligence
• Coordinate and attend appropriate trade shows to foster new opportunities & maintain market presence
• Develop/Maintain marketing materials, social media and company website
• Provide reports, projections and goals
• Enhance company reputation by building sincere relationships and providing unparalleled service

• Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree or higher and have a minimum of 10 years' experience marketing in construction or related industries, including a well-developed understanding of construction services in general.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe graphic design applications is important.
• The ideal candidate is sincere, articulate, creative, organized, demonstrates superb writing skills and attention to detail.
• Ultimately, the Director of Business Development for IHC Construction is willing to work openly and collaboratively and adapts to the many personalities inside the office and out.
