Job Description
As a Quality Control Inspector, you will maintain a consistent presence at construction sites, closely interacting with contractors, clients' representatives, and project management staff to coordinate site requirements according to job specifications. Your role involves taking photographs of job-site progress, submitting daily documentation and reports, and ensuring contractors comply with contract documents. You will complete and submit daily quality and safety reports, inform the Project Manager of any quality issues or safety violations by the contractor, and ensure all work is completed prior to final inspection.

- Inform Project Manager of quality issues and safety violations.
- Ensure incomplete work is finished prior to final inspection.
- Experience in quality control inspection and construction documentation.
- Proficiency in report writing and organization.
- Technical ability for a documentation and reporting-heavy role.
- Experience working/coordinating with contractors onsite.
- Understanding of on-site safety requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial construction management experience or onsite supervisory experience on commercial projects.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Previous use of construction software for reporting/job progress.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel across the greater Chicagoland area.
Candidates must be open to working a variable schedule week-to-week, with some weeks requiring 20‑30 hours and others 60+ hours. Night work may be necessary when CPS School Programs resume towards the end of summer. The role involves guiding inspections on CPS projects, conducting in-progress meetings with the IRSC Project Manager, contractors, and site personnel. Travel in your own car to job site locations is required, with the majority of time spent on job sites and documentation completed from home or remotely.
The role is based in the Chicago area, with projects throughout the Chicagoland area.
This is a Contract position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay And BenefitsPay range: $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
