Construction Manager

Location: Chicago, IL

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support Data Center Delivery (DCD) Construction Management team in the successful execution of large-scale data center construction projects. This role serves as an extension of the client construction leadership team, providing field coordination, execution tracking, risk identification, and stakeholder alignment across assigned campus projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong mission‑critical construction experience, exceptional coordination skills, and a proactive approach to managing project risks, contractor performance, and cross‑functional collaboration.

• Support Construction Managers in coordinating contractor execution across multiple trades and work streams.
• Drive day‑to‑day field coordination activities, including:
• Workface readiness planning
• Constraint identification and resolution
• Trade interface management and tracking
• Facilitate alignment between design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover activities.
• Proactively identify, document, and escalat[e] project risks, including:
• Schedule impacts and delays
• Scope conflicts
• Procurement constraints
• Provide recommendations and insights to client leadership to support timely decision‑making.
• Identify systemic risks affecting project sequencing, logistics, and execution.

• Track and coordinate critical project documentation, including:
• Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Field changes
• Methods of Procedure (MOPs)
• Work plans
• Monitor change management activities and assess schedule impacts.
• Maintain accurate project logs, action items, and status reporting.

• Support contractor accountability by:
• Tracking commitments and deliverables
• Monitoring progress against schedules
• Highlighting deviations and performance concerns
• Escalating non‑performance issues to client leadership
• Foster collaboration among contractors, trade partners, and project stakeholders.
• Support commissioning readiness activities.
• Assist with Integrated Systems Testing (IST) preparation and execution planning.
• Coordinate project turnover activities to ensure smooth transition into operations.

• 10+ years of construction management experience, preferably supporting large‑scale commercial, industrial, mission‑critical, or data center projects.
• Proven experience managing RFIs, submittals, and change management processes on complex construction programs.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and resolving scope, scheduling, and execution conflicts in fast‑paced project environments.
• Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to identify risks proactively and drive issue resolution across cross‑functional teams.

• Data center, mission‑critical, semiconductor, or large infrastructure project experience.
• Knowledge of commissioning, IST processes, and construction turnover requirements.
• Familiarity with project delivery environments or similar owner‑led construction programs.
